Dear Friend of Arch Street,
As the longest running, privately funded, not-for-profit teen center in the country, Arch Street is proud to announce our 26th year of service to the Greenwich community! Our mission is focused: to provide teens with a safe environment in which to connect and socialize with their peers. We ask you to support Arch Street Teen Center today by making a contribution to our 2016-17 Annual Appeal.
Serving over 15,000 students annually, Arch Street is proud to offer a diverse range of programs to Greenwich teens. You are vital to keeping our doors open as we are a privately funded operation. With your support, Arch Street engages teens in the following programs:
Community Service: Hundreds of students participate in our community service programs each year, giving over 1,000 hours of service to individuals and volunteer organizations in the Greenwich Community. Our teen governing board, representing all local public and private schools, provides students with important opportunities for leadership and team-building. Classes and Special Programs: We support advancement of the arts for teens through theater and dance classes, acoustical performance nights, and NEW this winter we will be adding a recording studio for our budding artists. Teens participate in classes in yoga, paddle boarding, CPR certification and hip-hop and the NEW biking program keep our teens busy.
Meeting Space: Our Coffee House provides students with a safe place to study and socialize with their peers after school. Offering complimentary wifi and a range of food items. The Teen Center is a venue for special events, including free movie screenings and the Arch Street Meets Speaker Series, designed to inspire and educate teens about a diverse range of professions.
Middle School Socials: We provide age-appropriate opportunities for 6th, 7th and 8th grade teens to gather and socialize in a supervised environment. These popular events ranged from DJ dances to mini-golf and obstacle course themed parties.
High School Dances: The High School dances organized by and for teens, are professionally staffed with trained safety and security personnel. These events offer students a unique opportunity to raise funds for causes that are important to them.
Arch Street also strives to be a resource to parents and the broader Greenwich community. Under Executive Director, Kyle Silver’s leadership the Arch Street Speaks Series holds several presentations where experts in the fields of adolescence, social media and education provide advice to parents. We hope to expand our program this calendar year.
Arch Street is a not-for-profit that does not receive any public funding. Only 25% of our revenue is generated from our program fees and the rest of our revenue comes from private donors. We count on individuals like you to meet our operating expenses. Please be as generous as you can to help Arch Street continue to serve our amazing Greenwich Teen population.
With warm regards,
Sara Keller (Co-Chair) and Erin Spiess Chang (Co-Chair)
